This summer, fan-favourite advertising platform “If Carlsberg Did…” makes an official comeback, appearing in Carlsberg campaigns for the first time since 2016.
The iconic phrase has always championed “access to the best,” historically taking everyday moments and reimagining the absolute best version of them – resulting in unforgettable ads like the legendary Carlsberg holiday resort, the ultimate apartment, and 5 a side team of dreams.
Though the tagline never truly faded from common parlance, racking up nearly 20,000 mentions globally across social media over the past year, this official relaunch sees Carlsberg reclaiming the phrase. Now, the campaign, created with creative agency Fold7, receives a fresh, modern update. Transitioning from the fantasy scenarios of the past, the new iteration identifies modern, everyday consumer barriers and offers humorous, uniquely Carlsberg solutions, proving that when it comes to solving classic British summer frustrations, “If Carlsberg did… it’d probably be the best for everyone.”
Munnawar Chishty, CMO at Carlsberg Britvic, said: “Bringing back ‘If Carlsberg Did…’ after ten years is a massive moment for us. It is one of the most iconic, recognisable, and beloved advertising taglines in British history. For decades, it represented our unique take on ‘access to the best’ – identifying frustrating, relatable consumer barriers and resolving them with Carlsberg’s trademark wit and confidence. In 2026, we’re giving this legendary platform a modern glow-up to solve some of the UK’s most common summer pain points. Whether it’s reclaiming the peace of a seaside beer garden from seagulls or finding a perfectly chilled pint in the middle of a heatwave, we are stepping in to help Brits make the absolute most of their summer.”

The campaign rolls out across three main light-hearted creatives, with experiential real-world activations popping up at locations throughout the UK this summer:
- “If Carlsberg Did Summer… we’d deliver ice cold pints where they’re needed most”: A picnic in the park sounds like the perfect summer afternoon, until the blistering heat leaves you desperate for an ice-cold pint without a pub in sight. Stepping in to save the day, Carlsberg introduces a mobile bar inspired by the nostalgic charm of a classic ice cream van. Instead of soft serve, this roaming saviour serves up perfectly chilled pints of Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, bringing premium refreshment directly to sweating consumers exactly where and when they need it most.
- “If Carlsberg Did Football Ads”: Recognising that football is far easier to watch on screen than to actually get out and play, Carlsberg kicked off its new campaign with “Goal Posters”, turning billboards into physical goals to revive the joy of a spontaneous kickabout. This activation brought back the classic jumpers for goalposts energy, making starting a game with mates just as effortless as turning on the TV. Building on the momentum of this football launch, the wider campaign now expands across the rest of the British summer, tackling a host of other seasonal frustrations with the same humorous, solution-oriented approach.
- “If Carlsberg Did Summer…seagulls wouldn’t get a look in”: Seaside pub gardens are increasingly plagued by aggressive, feathered menaces. Carlsberg’s light-hearted play on this deploys real, professionally trained hawks as “Seagull Security” in coastal pubs and hotspots near beaches.
The campaign extends prominently to the retail floor across UK grocery, convenience, and wholesale channels throughout July and August. Feature displays and activations feature the theme “If Carlsberg did summer, we’d keep it chilled” to instantly connect with ATL marketing. Retail aisles will boast bespoke, eye-catching free-standing display units (FSDUs) alongside consumer promotions for coveted merchandise—including iconic green bucket hats emblazoned with the white Carlsberg clover logo—allowing beer lovers to ‘keep it chilled’ anywhere.

While currently celebrating the British summer, this relaunch marks a more significant, long-term strategic move with “If Carlsberg Did…” becoming the long-term global creative for the brand. This comes in the brand showing up consistently across diverse international markets with localised and cultural relevance.
