As the digital landscape shifts from traditional search engines to AI-driven discovery, performance media agency ROAST has announced the launch of its proprietary ChatGPT App Tracker.

The tool is designed to help brands navigate the expanding ecosystem of OpenAI’s GPT App Store, providing transparency and competitive intelligence in a space that is multiplying in new apps by the day.
Currently, ChatGPT often relies on broad web searches via Bing and Google to answer user queries, which can lead to incomplete results, out of date content or and missing out on inventory discoverability. By launching a custom ChatGPT App, brands ensure the AI has a structured, direct line to their entire database and can control the flow of a conversation with a view to sending users to their site for further information or to convert.
Brands such as TripAdvisor, Lowe’s, Zillow, Cottages, S&P, Experian and Pitchbook have already launched apps on the platform with the number of apps in the UK reaching 169 and 187 in the US – expanding daily.
John Campbell, Head of Innovation at ROAST explains, “While Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) has dominated recent industry conversations, there is a broader AI Discoverability framework in play. Brands must look beyond simple search optimisation to new emerging areas of interest, a crucial one being ChatGPT Apps.”
“Currently, it is incredibly difficult to monitor and analyse the scope of apps available,” Campbell continued, “Our tracker doesn’t just list names; it breaks down the type of apps, categories, the features, and the templates, giving brands a roadmap for their own development of an app.”
Accompanying the tool ROAST have released a comprehensive whitepaper exploring the long-term implications of ChatGPT Apps, which suggests a looming shift in AI behaviour, rather than ChatGPT simply searching the web, it may soon proactively suggest specific brand apps to fulfil user requests. This transition would fundamentally change the discoverability equation for global brands.
The GPT App Tracker is now live, featuring daily email alerts and CSV download capabilities for registered users.
