Technology leader Epson launched a brand experience roadshow across three major UK shopping centres in September. The pop-up, which includes an Instagrammable student bedroom and interactive time trial, aims to educate university students on the benefits of buying their most sustainable printer yet – EcoTank.
More than 79% of students worry about how to make ends meet and a whopping 77% start their university life without having been shown how to manage their cash.
The fun pop-up activation, designed, produced and delivered by creative experience agency Wonder, will highlight to freshers (and their parents alike) that they could save £1,120 with EcoTank and printing with the included ink.
Containing enough ink to print up to 14,000 pages from the offset, the activation champions the benefits of EcoTank, instead of relying upon traditional printers or the library over the university year.
The activation heroes the refillable CMYK element of the printer in a three-way pop-up. Visitors to the branded experience can fill their social feeds using #EcoTankOnTour in the completely cyan student bedroom, be educated on EcoTank Savings, come away with exclusive discounts, and even win prizes in the interactive time trial, by guessing what other essential student items add up to the £1000 EcoTank savings.
Charlene Willmore, Channel Marketing Manager at Epson said, “Wonder have been great at interpreting the brief and finding a creative and fun way to engage our target audience of students and their parents. I’m really excited to arrive on-site to see the vision come to life.”
Chris Helliwell, Head of Creative at Wonder, said: “The three way pop-up activation is the perfect solution to the challenge Epson set us – to create a visually striking experience that immediately creates intrigue and interest in busy environments. They wanted a fun and engaging experiential activation that could easily speak to students and parents, but also raise awareness of the great savings EcoTank offers.”
The activation is running in Bluewater in Kent, Trafford Centre in Manchester and Birmingham’s Bullring on select dates through September.
