Chelsea has partnered with Indian digital transformation specialists Wipro, a day after Manchester United announced a similar tie-up with rival HCL.
Wipro becomes Chelsea’s official digital and IT partner. The club will use tech to boost the fan experience both at matches and across Chelsea’s existing digital properties.
Chelsea’s managing director, Christian Purslow, said: “We plan on using this partnership to truly enhance the fan experience for millions of Chelsea supporters worldwide. Wipro’s expertise in building winning propositions that sit at the intersection of strategy, design and technology will help sustain our position as the digital leader in global sport.”
Purslow added that Wipro’s strong standing in India would help Chelsea build its fan base in the country, already standing at 50 million supporters.
