Bulk Powders is one of the UK’s leading sports nutrition brands and has continued to go from strength to strength. Their latest venture is a range exclusively for women and required impactful brand and packaging design to complement industry leading flavours and formulations. Leeds-based strategic design agency, Robot Food, was asked once again to lead on creative and deliver design that packs a punch.
Robot Food understands Bulk Powders well, having designed their brand identity in 2013 along with the website and packaging, followed by a brand update in 2017 to accommodate additional product ranges.
Gym culture has evolved to be as popular among women as it is men, and with women an ever-growing market for sports nutrition, there was room for a serious product range focused on specific fitness goals.
Taking cues and inspiration from lifestyle brands and booming gym culture, Robot Food came up with the dynamic name WMN and created designs using eye-catching rose gold against a clean, white backdrop. Pastel accent colours help with navigation for an eclectic range that includes Daily Protein shakes, Active WMN multivitamins and Radiance Capsules.
Strikingly feminine, WMN makes a bold statement for quality products aimed at women’s health and fitness, and a strong addition to Bulk Powders overall offer. Lucy Mecklenburgh, known for her role in the British ITV2 reality TV series, The Only Way Is Essex, joins Anthony Joshua as an influential, high-profile brand ambassador.
Lucy says, “Health and wellness are extremely important to me. I spend long hours working in the office, in my boutique and training. I always try to eat healthily to give myself the best possible platform to succeed and WMN really helps with that. As a range of supplements to support my active lifestyle, it’s perfect.”
WMN launched in January this year and is Bulk Powders first range to be sold on the high street, available in Boots stores across the UK with more retailers and sports outlets soon to follow.
Elliot Dawes, Managing Director at Bulk Powders said, “Robot Food has created a great looking, contemporary sub-brand. WMN has style and attitude, looks right at home among our other ranges, and really captures the moment in terms of gym and fitness culture.”
Katy Mair, Senior Account Manager at Robot Food said, “We’ve been working with Bulk Powders for a few years now, and it was a pleasure to create such an exciting new sub-brand. The designs speak to contemporary attitudes and match the serious mind-set of the savvy target market.”
